Near the entry/exit point of SPV International Airport there are a large number of squatters on the lawns. They litter and mess up the lawns; there are also balloon and peanut and other vendors. A shocking state of affairs! Where is the Airport Security?
I tried to bring up this issue with the security and other personnel but got no satisfactory response. I hope this is taken up and the needed steps taken for a permanent solution
Some of the immigration officers are corrupted & asking for money to clear the entry while immigration check-in process. They doesn’t know, how to talk with the people. I can’t express in words, what type of dirty words they are using while talking with people. They should be terminate as early as possible.

-Security queue long,officers r corrupt n support to jump Q,manager did nothing
-gate,no enough toilets
-process completed in 4 hours 15 minutes.No priority for any elderly,kids or any pregnant women.Officers just stand their,do nothing,creates frustration,delays,shows corruption when they help someone.
its a disaster travelling via AMD airport.Govt should sack them all.
One of the best airports in India and one and only international airport in Gujarat.
Awesomeness
The new terminal is really awesome. It is really clean, big and has all the regular facilities. There are 30 check-in counters and a business lounge which is a bit small; there are 4 boarding bridges. I would love to fly from here.
Corrupt Customs Officers In Ahmedabad Airport
I’m British, and I’m also of Indian origin. My wife is from Ahmedbad, during my wedding period, I was harassed by customs officers, they asked me more money and asked for me to slide the money into my passport and hand it over ($278.00 – what an odd amount and why in dollars?) I was so angry I shouted "you corrupt f**kers I came here to get married", I threw my money at them and they went RED. Their supervisor came over gave me my money back and said he would sort the men out. On another occasion, I flew to India…my father in law passed away, on my way back one hungry poor pathetic heartless customs man kept saying "pessa pessa" to me. He looked at my gold neckless and he said how is Voorrkk? I said ‘Work’ is okay. He said "pessa"? I just thought ‘Oh, my god’. I told the man my father in law has died and I just want to go back home now. He said ‘OK’, made a money sign with his fingers (rubbing his fingers together) and said "pessa pessa" yet again! I was so angry I just raised my voice and said "PLEASE LET ME GO HOME" he let me go. I love India, I love Ahmedabad, it’s my 2nd home. But this airport hires hungry scrubs who should be in prison for the heartless harassment they put passengers through. In particular NRIs. A fellow passanger told me "India is corrupt and it will never change". How sad, and pathetic. I hope Ahmedabad airport at least does something about this mess.
Excellent
Ahmedabad Air port is the one of the best air ports all over India. Yes, it’s true because I have travelled many times and I’ve never had any issue. Thank you all very much.
Ahmedabad International Airport
Mr. Vijay is right. But the new airport started on 15th September 2010. Now it is considered to be one of the best 5 international airport of India. Because of political reasons, no new international flights are operating.

Improved
That’s true that earlier AMD was not up to the mark. But now it has been improved with all the international standards and I can say that it is a good one.
Best International Airport
Ahmedabad Airport is now developed very well. It’s beautiful and now trained staff are best in the world like Changi airport.
Third Rate Airport
Ahmedabad Airport can be termed as one of the worst airports not only in India but in the world. You never feel any signs of it being an international airport. The runway looks more like the Gujarat Roads after rains. And when you get into the pickup bus either the AC won’t be working or they would keep u inside for hours. And after getting into the airport you see zigzag lines, perpendicular lines, parallel lines of people. Pushing becomes a sort of entertainment at that time. And when you see the faces of the officials who do the stamping you realise that they just had their breakfast (Pan, Gutkha). Go to the baggage claim you would be the last one to get your bag. And then on the x ray machine, the official would say ‘Line maa ubha raho,chaal’. The size of your luggage makes their eyes glitter. First the police constable will come close and whisper to you ‘Jaldi karo,saab’. You pay him. Next will be the boys who unload our goods from the xray machine. And after all this when you leave the airport you have a strong believe that India is shining.
AMD International Airport
Very Very Very poor set up for international airport standards. I have seen more than 15 international airports in India and abroad, including USA, Canada, Dubai and Singapore, Ahmedabad Airport is nonparallel in worst. Airport gets probably 3 international flight and all are approximately 1 hour apart at midnight, and if one flight is delayed / arrives early even by 30 minutes then starts all trouble. We (Indian) cannot dictate arrival time of planes because other countries will refuse to adjust the flight time, otherwise we can schedule one flight every 4 hours or similar, also if we can upgrade infrastructure and mentality of people, we can work more efficiently. Lots needs to be done, we can start one thing at a time and hopefully within a few months we will be closer to qualifying mark. Probably to set an example of an impartial minister, our aviation minister overlooks the ONLY international airport of one of top 5 states of India.
Ahmedabad Airport
I have been travelling through AMD airport for more than 7 years. The development of international airport started slow, and had given initial impression that will be very good when finished. I appreciate the working of the all staffs with quite passionate, with cool mind despite so many facilities not available. I must say, the domestic airport is very competitive if it would have been termed for International Airport. Space…Arrangements of airline counters, screening machines arrangements, passengers lounge, and security/boarding lounge…conveyor baggage area…while international airport looks like a domestic airport with too many passengers struggling in small area, everywhere..
Good Facility
I’ve bee travelling from Ahmedabad airport for 7 years and the airport has developed at a very fast stage. The new terminal is ready for domestic airlines, which has 5 boarding gates and 30 check-in counters. And another terminal is coming up opposite the current international terminal, which will have 6 boarding gates and will have capacity of holding 28 big sized aircraft at one time so it will become a world class airport this year.
Worst International Airport
I have travelled from all major airports in the world, even though Ahmadabad boasts big developing state, the international airport is a mess, check-in counters are handled by inexperienced staff leading to confusions and flight delays. Immigration officials cannot speak English or with difficulty they read and understand English. Very pathetic state, clearly projects bad image of India to foreigners, even airports in underdeveloped countries have better facility.
Rising Sun The Ahmedabad International Airport
We are a frequent visitors of the Ahmedabad Airport. It looks like a rising sun on the land of Ahmedabad. Barring the surrounding locality of dense slums, one can find good, wide roads, clean terminals and the most attractive and gorgeous looking tubular structure as an elevation. Parking fees for cars is a bit more than that for the Helicopter here. But one feature attracted my special attention,and that is, the locals using the approach to the Airport for morning walk in this time of international insecurity.I think it is not fair. Otherwise, the place has a very high development potential as an international airport.
Harassment By Rikshaw Wallahs
My god! May god bless all those who land at Ahmedabad Airport and have no private pickup. Uncontrollable rikshaw wallahs harass and chase the passengers right from almost within the arrival terminal area even in the presence of security. The Security driving out the auto drivers every minute is a common sight. It looks as if they are playing childish game. Whose fault is this anyway? Really shameful!
Ahmedabad Airport. . .
I have been travelling through Ahmedabad Airport for last 20 years. The improvement is visible. The airlines have changed their attitude and their airport personnel are friendly and service oriented. As far as immigration department is concerned, they are still living in 20th century. Most of the time they are never found at the counter despite the fact that flights land on time. They need at least 30 minutes to get fresh, to show off their power. I strongly suggest that authority concern must look into this to polish the police section. This is spoiling the Indian image. There are always two types of people hard and hardly working, the latter one needs to learn hard to how to work hard and change their attitude.
Ahmedabad Airport Suck
I have never seen this type of crappy airport before. I have traveled from Ahmedabad international airport fifteen times within last 10 years. No improvement at all. New domestic is now getting garbage. I hope that airport officers will do something to make airport better. Airport staff is the worst in India. I would prefer to travel by rail instead of air in Ahmedabad. There is no way that they will be able to control a new international airport which is going to open in March 2009.
Poor Service
The airport is not so clean and staff is not that helpful. After immigration area is a mess. You can’t think of getting outside even after an hour of security checks. Some rules regulations should be maintained.
No Officials To Stamp My Passort
I used the airport about four years ago and I have never seen corruption on this scale before. I am going to use the airport again and I hope that this problem has been tackled.
Dis
Only thing they do at the Airport is steal money some way or the other. All the airport staff are A to Z corrupted, filthy, ugly. Staff is there to help pick up luggage and they ask for dollars to get it out without customs. Corruptions is #1 priority.
Poor Services
The airport is being refurbished but there is still a lot of scope for improvement. Public utility services are underdeveloped; there is a lack of indentification marks and guide symbols. No help desk support at most times. The plantation through is excellent; AAI has done an excellent job. There is a need of a designated area for aircraft enthusiasts, to have a look at airplanes while they are landing and taking-off. This may be combined with a picturesque cafe to add to the frill and charm. And yes, it will indeed be great to have a little more co-operative security staff.
